Life in the world of Western Asia
The summer has taken us many places, and brought hot temperatures. We headed to the seashore one weekend with great expectation. The wind and waves didn't let us down as we cooled down in the northern waters of the sea and then iced down in the spring waters of the outdoor showers.
On the Sea
On the Sea
With moisture always blowing in from the far northern steppes on the other side of the inland sea, this area has no lack of greenery. Some trails wound their way around the rocks and bushes and trees, giving the patient climber a great view from the top of the cliffs.
The cliffs and beaches attract thousands every week during the hot days of summer. They also host conferences and travelers.

Far and Away
Some people maybe question the value of a pioneer mentality in todays world. With the internet and cell phones breaking all the barriers, it may seem there are no frontiers any longer. Anyone can get access to information anywhere if they really want it. It's true that access to the larger world has increased significantly in the past ten years on a global scale. But to assume that the pioneer presence is no longer necessary for bringing real change into communities is wrong. After all, it takes more than just reading something and seeing something through the virtual world of internet and computers to receive the full meaning. Where is the element of breaking bread together? It is in the breaking of bread together, in person, face to face, that new vistas open, and new introductions become life-changing. The pioneer mentality is not only necessary, it is holy.
